Looks like I’m heading to Epcot

At Your Highway in the Sky, we share a lot of information to help both new and veteran guests plan and prepare for their Disney vacations. We’ve provided tips for traveling with kids or acquiring those hard to get Dining Reservations and countless other ways to make your vacations easier. We’ve given a lot of tips about how others can prepare for a magical vacation, but I’ve never really gone into my personal planning. So how do I prepare for a Walt Disney World vacation? Simple. I don’t. I do nothing to prepare for a Walt Disney World vacation. Well…almost nothing.

As long as I have my cell phone in my pocket, I’m prepared for a day at any Disney park. That’s because I rely solely on the excellent Lines app by Touring Plans. I let Touring Plans do the dirty work for me, so that I don’t have to. Sometimes I leave my house without knowing which park I’m going to visit that day. I decide based on Touring Plans’ handy crowd calendar. More often than not, the park they indicate as being the “best park” is usually the actual best park to visit on a given day. These crowd calendars are based on tons of research, an insane level of mathematics, and are constantly updated. For each day, they even give an “Overall Crowds” rating, which can be helpful for deciding when to visit in general.

I’m lucky enough to live so close to the Disney Parks that I can head over there on a whim. For those not so lucky, Touring Plans provides a 365 day Crowd Calendar to make your planning much, much easier.

Sometimes Touring Plans can be more accurate than the posted wait time.

Once inside my chosen park, I use the Lines app to keep track of what fastpasses are still available and what the wait times look like for various attractions. The Lines app is also my Times and Information Guide, as it always has up to date times for everything going on in the park, even for smaller shows like the Casey’s Corner Pianist.

So that’s how I prepare for a Disney Vacation, but putting my faith in Touring Plans. If you’d like to check out the Lines App, check it out here. Hope you use it as much as I do. Highly recommended.

Thank You for joining me today. Your next stop on this month’s Magical Blogorail will be Disney Living.
