Ever since the first round of Vinylmation figures inspired by Star Wars, many have been wondering when Disney would use their Marvel properties. The answer is October 11th at Walt Disney World and Disneyland.

As opposed to the Marvel Cinematic Universe, or MCU for short, the Vinylmation figures are based on the comic book versions of their favorite superheroes which is why it includes the original Nick Fury and Spider-Man in his white Fantastic Four outfit. The rest of the superheroes present in the series are Spider-Woman, Thor with Mjolnir, Hulk, Vision, Black Widow, Captain America, Iron Man, Black Panther and Dr. Strange. Hawkeye is the combo topper. In Vinylmation, some sets are sold for $24.99 and include a visible Vinylmation figure on top of the blind box. It’s a special figure that can be only be found this way and it’s called the combo topper. There’s no word on who the Mystery figure is.

Since Vinylmation only allowed for thirteen or fourteen characters at a time, the majority of Marvel’s characters were left out. One can only speculate at this point about all the possibilities. There could be a second series of heroes or one just with villains or a series of just the X-Men to coincide with the new X-Men film, Days of Future Past, being released May 23, 2014.

Was your favorite character included? Who would you like to see in the future? Would you like a different franchise?

New details have emerged on Thor’s Meet and Greet at Disneyland. It will be at the same portion of Innoventions that held the Iron Man suits for their Iron Man 3 exhibit. However, unlike other Meet and Greets, this attraction will combine storytelling with movie memorabilia and be called Thor: Treasures of Asgard. Park guests will be informed, probably through a pre-taped segment, that Jane Foster has calculated that the Bifrost will open right now in their very building. The Bifrost is a rainbow bridge that Thor and others use to travel across the galaxy, including to Earth. After that introduction, park guests will get an up close look at many movie props which could include Mjolnir, various other weapons or even costumes. Then, they travel the Bifrost to reach Asgard and meet Thor himself. This set up is also similar to The Magic of Disney Animation at Disney’s Hollywood Studios.

Thor will come to Disneyland on November 1, 2013.

What do you think? Are you still upset that Loki isn’t involved?

Meet the Avengers: Hawkeye

Clint Barton appears to be a normal human. He hasn’t been subjected to radiation or outfitted with a bionic part or two. Barton definitely isn’t a god. However, he is the greatest living marksman on Earth which has earned him the name, Hawkeye, and a place among the Avengers.

Other than a brief appearance in Thor as part of SHIELD, nothing is known about the cinematic Hawkeye. In comics, Barton and his older brother lost their parents in a car crash when they were very young and were sent to an orphanage. Later, they ran away to the circus where Barton mastered archery. Unfortunately, he found out his mentor was committing illegal acts. Barton was going to report this when he was found out, beaten and left for dead. His brother stopped speaking to him, too. Left on his own, Barton began showing off his prowess with a bow in various small circuses before meeting Black Widow and joining SHIELD.

Jeremy Renner was born January 7, 1971 in Modesto, California. While attending junior college, he found his passion for acting and focused on the theatre before turning to television and film. Despite memorable roles on television series such as Angel and the short-lived ABC series, The Unusuals, Renner’s career didn’t really take off until his performance in The Hurt Locker. Renner was nominated for an Oscar for the film that would take home the Academy Award for Best Picture and five other wins. After being part of the ensemble casts for Mission: Impossible-Ghost Protocol and The Avengers, Renner stars in The Bourne Legacy in August.

For The Avengers, Renner did many of his own stunts. Joss Whedon, the director and writer, praised him, saying, “He’s an amazing fighter – his fight work is wonderful: precise, heroic, and you seldom have to double him.”
