If you still haven’t hopped aboard the Starspeeder 1000 and traveled the galaxy with Star Tours and if our Star Tours 2.0 Guide wasn’t enough for you, Disney has just launched a new website to help you deal with your Star Tours craving. The Star Tours Adventures site features everything from details about the many destinations you will find on your Star Tours journeys as well as craft ideas, recipes, and a purple haired new host. The craft ideas are interesting, giving you steps on creating your own lightsaber; however, I’m most intrigued by the recipes. Chewbacca’s Wookie Cupcakes look deliciously awesome and Yoda’s Sorbet Sundae makes me want to head straight to the Dagobah System (“THE DAGOBAH SYSTEM???”).
The website has a pretty cool Behind the Scenes page, with a fun video starring Ashley Eckstein (Star Wars: The Clone Wars) letting you know to look up the address of the WDI Offices to find the significance of the number “1401″ listed on the Starspeeder Models. Not the most subtle hint, but its great to see Disney giving fans some small hidden secrets. There is also a short interview with Imagineer Tom Fitzgerald (featuring some smoothly blended footage of him from the 80s). Hearing him talk, albeit briefly, about Star Tours shows how passionate the imagineers are about their creations and how long this Star Tours dream has been in development.
I definitely want to see Disney do more of this in the future.
Check out the page listed below and let us know if you find any other hidden goodies.
